Lying here under the stars

With the sky a deep dark blue

And the moon shining bright

I am dreaming of you!

I see moonlight in your eyes

Like it reflects off the lake

I see stars in your eyes

What a beautiful sight it makes.

I think that God

Painted this night for you and me

Even if you’re not here with me

This night was meant to be.

I rest in the thoughts

Of holding you close

Of sweet words we share

And how I love you the most!

It helps to remember

We’re under the same moon

We may be wishing on the same star

That we can be together soon.

So hold me close

If only in your thoughts

I’m holding you here in my heart

Wishing and waiting, hoping and praying

Though for now we’re apart.
