Sweet Persecution

They persecute and slander
Yet you don’t make a sound
They mock your God and faith
And spit on the truth you’ve found.

They torture and tease
With reckless abandon

Death is so much sweeter
Because I have your truth
I have no denial
And I don’t need proof
I don’t want this life
I just want yours
So even if they take my life,
I’ll just be with you.

Because it’s simply
Sweet persecution…

I wrote this originally as a song... but can't think of the music... I wrote it after reading a Voice of the Martyrs article... and just amazed at the things they go through for Christ! They really inspire me... and I pray that God would sustain me and be Enough to me that I could do that too...
